Things look a little bit different this year... but even though we can't gather together IRL to shop local goods, doesn't mean we can't shop our favourite Ottawa craft markets virtually!
We knew we had to do more than just a weekend...
Should we do it BFCM weekend???
Should we wait until mid-December for all those last minute shoppers (we see you!)???
Should we do two???
Well, we found a way to do it for the whole time! So whether you kill off your shopping list on BFCM weekend, or wait until last minute... we gotchu covered.

WHEN IS THE (virtual) HOLIYAY CRAFT MARKET?
The 2020 virtual craft market runs from Thursday, November 26th to Thursday, December 24th.
HOW WE WILL GET OUR PURCHASES ON DECEMBER 24th?
We are using a local courier service that offers same day delivery! Order before our cut-off time of 12pm EST, and we'll get your goods to you ***
SAME DAY DELIVERY... TELL US ABOUT IT?
Oh. My. Gosh.
When we say that this is the amazon of local... we mean it! Order before noon, and get/send your order that day! We send your order along to the fulfillment service, they pick, pack and deliver it.
THERE ARE DELAYS IN THE POSTAL SERVICE? COULD THERE BE DELAYS FOR MY HOLIYAY DELIVERY?
No! When we were planning (virtual) Holiyay craft market we had already heard about the potential delays in delivery + postal service, so it was important for us to find an alternative. Our courier service can get up to 3000 orders out a day!!!
IS THERE A VIRTUAL "ENTRY FEE" TO SHOP?
Nope! You will be able to shop all the goods on our website and they will all be delivered to you in one package. Pay one flat rate to shop 60+ makers and get it delivered to your door.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T ORDER BY THE DAILY CUTOFF TIME?
Your order will be delivered the next day!
MY ORDER IS A GIFT... HOW CAN I DO THIS?
It's totally up to you! If you want to get it all delivered to you so that you can do your own porch drop off to your friend/colleague/boss/dog groomer/great aunt etc, you can totally do that!
But, if you put a separate shipping address at checkout (different than your billing address) we can deliver straight to that special someone!
HOW MUCH IS DELIVERY?
Our flat rate delivery costs $15 (tax included) for the Ottawa heart addresses (K1, K2, K4), and a slightly higher amount for surrounding areas. We use a courier service called gopherit deliveries (a proudly indigeneous-owned company) that has ethical hiring practices + offers local fulfillment service. By using this service we are not only creating jobs in the local economy, but we have completely taken the logistics of inventory, packing + shipping off of our makers' to-do lists so that they can do what they do best... make!

WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M NOT HOME WHEN THEY DELIVER?
Its mandatory to put a phone number on the order... if you aren't home, they make every possible effort to get in touch with you. We get it, porch pirates are a thing. And we live in Ottawa where the weather is... well, less than ideal this time of year! It's absolutely paramount to us that your package shows up in perfect condition.
IS IT SAFE?
We know that things are dicey out there. We decided in July to go fully virtual knowing that any gathering could be cancelled at any time, and truly... its the right thing to do right now to keep you safe. All deliveries will be contactless and the gopherit drivers + staff have covid19 measures in place.
WHAT ELSE ARE YOU DOING TO MAKE IT A MARKET?
We are releasing a LIVE music + fun workshops schedule really soon! We are also going to have a virtual photobooth, and a schedule of virtual bubble-besties shopping nights. Of course there will be giveaways, featuring our makers and highlighting what makes them so cool.
I'M NOT FROM OTTAWA... DO YOU SHIP?
Yes, we will be shipping with tracked shipping. You may pay a little bit more this way, but this is your best bet at getting it on time to put that local under the tree.
SOMETHING IS SOLD OUT... WILL IT BE RESTOCKED?
We know that we have THE BEST vendor list this holiday season (we might be biased ;) ) and that some of these goods are going to sell fast! Makers have experienced shortages of supplies this year, so your best bet is to buy it before its gone gone, baby gone!
We have a logistics manager that will be contacting makers that have sold out goods and if we can, we will restock it.
HOW WILL IT BE DELIVERED?
We try to cut out plastics whenever we can... your order will be delivered in our custom paper shopper (with custom tags + cards to put in with your gift to highlight local). Your order may be delivered with bubble wrap if the item is breakable (like the ceramics). And the jewelry will be delivered in muslin pouches or branded boxes/bags from the brands.
I WANT TO SEND MULTIPLE GIFTS TO PEOPLE, DO I HAVE TO PAY SEPARATE DELIVERY FEES?
Yes, you will have to pay multiple deliveries. But we take all the work off your plate (going into a shop, coming home, bagging it, delivering it, avoiding those winter roads). Our contactless delivery gets those local gifts to that special someone on your list.
We are looking into placing an order with multiple gifts to be delivered with a reduced delivery fee.... stay tuned!
WHAT OTHER LOCAL INITIATIVES DO YOU HAVE?
We keep AS MUCH local procurement and services local as we can. We have used + hired local photographer, videographer, photo booth, artists, musicians, workshop hosts and virtual assistant work! We also promote local food and experience businesses for you to compliment your local shopping.
THIS IS SUCH A COOL CONCEPT! WILL IT CONTINUE AFTER CHRISTMAS?
We're hoping y'all love it, and its a huge success. We would love to keep it going after the holidays into 2021 to keep providing a platform for you to discover emerging brands, and to shop local in an easy + safe way.
