Laura grew up in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, and eventually moved to Montreal to pursue an undergraduate degree in Literature from Concordia University. She also studied abroad at the Sorbonne (Université de Paris III) in Paris, France, for a year during this time.
Fast forward a few years, and Laura found that she needed to satisfy her urge to do something hands-on, concrete, and creative. She enrolled in the Woodworking program at the Rosemount Technology Centre in Montreal, where she got her formal training.
A generalist at heart, Laura loves to cook, write stories, read, garden, make fermented foods such as beer, cheese, sourdough bread, and kimchi, and think about creative ways to survive the zombie apocalypse
