What can we expect from your brand this holiday season?
Mostly bowls, planters and ornaments! I have been adding a few darker colours this season. I'll still have the lighter, dreamy colour palette with lots of pinks and turquoises, but I've added dark teal, purple and darker pink glazes.
What is your favourite item in your offering this year and why.
The smaller pieces with a gold luster rims are definitely my favourite. I make a few different sizes, and they're available in a variety of colours and patterns. I love seeing people look at each and every one, trying to find the perfect little bowl.
What is your favourite part about the local maker community.
Everyone is so supportive. It’s incredible.
Is this a side hustle for you, or a full time gig.
This is a side hustle for both of us. Cynthia is a creative arts instructor at the Perley Rideau Veteran’s Centre and I'm the marketing and proposal coordinator for a structural engineering firm.
- Did you participate in holiyay last year... if yes, what was your favourite part. If no, what are you looking forward to.
This will be a first for HOLLOW clayworks. I'm looking forward to catching up with old friends and making new ones. And shopping, lots of shopping!
- What is your favourite maker brand to gift this year (if not local to Ottawa, made in Canada).
There are so many! I was thinking of getting a couple of Gingersnap Handmade's toques... and Strut Jewelry's earrings... and soap from Zoe's Corner.
- After a long market day, I unwind by...
Ordering takeout and having a glass (or two) of wine.
- Can shoppers find you online if they cant make it to holiyay.
