Local tastemaker Katie Hession is a local digital creator that loves to shop local businesses. She is always looking for the next brand that she'll incorporate into her family's life, so when we asked her to curate a Christmas gift guide 2019 from our Holiyay Craft Market vendors, her only problem was how to narrow it down to only a few!
With a busy lifestyle and two young children, Katie was looking for things that she would not only love to have in her own life but that she would gift to anyone on her list.
ANUPAYA BLANKETS
It was love at first sight the first time I saw these gorgeous recycled wool blend blankets and I knew I had to have one. Not only are they incredibly warm and soft, but the purchase of each one means that Anupaya will remove one pound of waste from our wild holdin up to their “one pound promise”.
They are a perfect gift for that outdoors loving person in your life to keep them cozy on all their adventures.

LUXE NINA BELLA KNIT TOQUES
All made by hand here in Ottawa using her own unique patterns, you can really see and feel love put in to each of Nina Bella’s toques.
Her mama and me matching sets are so cute and perfect for that slow-fashion loving mom who likes to twin with her mini. Also, be sure to check her beanies knitted with words such as “coffee”, “wine”, “hockey mom”, and so many more!
COZY PONCHOS & SHAWLS BY MINI TIPI
We live in a climate meant for layering and these ponchos and shawls let us do it in style. The kid ponchos are perfect for keeping the kids warm without too much bulk (perfect for carseats!) and the women’s shawls are a perfect layer, especially for that mom-to-be to keep her bump stylish and warm. The fabric blend is also washable, so easy to use for the whole family!
THE WAX STUDIO BEESWAX CANDLES
Bee-lieve it or not, these adorable succulents are actually handmade beeswax candles made by local maker Anna of The Wax Studio. How great would one of these be as a unique hostess gift or gift exchange...not to mention the perfect answer for that plant murderer in you life.
As probably the youngest maker and entrepreneur at the show, be sure to find her at the market to feel inspired by her incredible drive and ambition for her candle business.
All of these goods will be available at the HOLIYAY Craft Market on December 6-8 at the Shaw Centre.
